Hopper’s work is the most recognisable art in America – popular, praised, and mysterious. Countless painters, photographers, filmmakers and musicians have been influenced by his art – but who was he, and how did a struggling illustrator create such a bounty of notable work? This new film takes a deep look into Hopper’s art, his life, and his relationships. From his early career as an illustrator; his wife giving up her own promising art career to be his manager; his critical and commercial acclaim; and in his own words – this film explores the enigmatic personality behind the brush…

Auguste Rodin (1840 - 1917) was one of the most important French sculptors of the 19th century. He is considered to be one of the fathers of modern sculpture.

Snake, cetacean, prominent vein, river. Seen from the air, the structure that criss-crosses Mediacity, Liège's major new shopping complex, looks like a giant stained-glass window. This astonishing artery, which swells, curves and meanders over 350 meters in length, is a covered street, the main gallery of a huge shopping center built in 2009 to revitalize a former industrial district in disrepair. Designed by Israeli designer Ron Arad, a champion of experimentation and provocation, known the world over for his playful furniture with its rounded, sculptural forms, this is a change of scale for him, as he sets out to conquer architecture and renew an often-criticized typology: commercial architecture.

Our master draftsman Gia-Haï Phan will show you the basics of a successful drawing: proportions, perspectives, values, contrasts, volumes, blending, everything is covered.

Raphael Federici (street artist), Marine Goodmorning (illustrator), Luca Fiore (cartoonist) and Harry Boudchicha (drawing teacher) reveal their best drawing techniques. Each episode focuses on a specific subject: movement, oil painting, shadows, hair... For the first 10 minutes, each artist gives a theoretical lesson illustrated by sketches. Then they each start working on their creation. Finally, they end with a debrief, comparing and explaining their techniques

Wilhelm Hansen was a visionary businessman who lived in Denmark in the 19th century. He was one of the few collectors to take an interest in the Impressionist painters, at a time when they were attacked and denigrated. He is one of the fathers of kinetic art, which proposes works containing moving parts, propelled by the wind, an engine, or the spectator. It is in the quiet neighborhood of Almagro, that the artist has installed his studio.

She was born in 1935 in a small village in the north of France, in Quiévy, and moved permanently to Paris in the 1960s. Working since 1972 in her studio in the 15th arrondissement, Geneviève Claisse has become one of the leading exponents of geometric abstraction in France.

He has photographed Kurt Cobain, Alain Bashung... He has covered the national and international music scene since the 1980s.

He was born and raised in Brittany, and at the age of 23 he undertook a big trip to discover other countries and took his camera with him. When he returned to France, he started working for news agencies and was interested in current affairs. In his quest for "functional" art, he wanted his new kinetic plastic art to help beautify the city and thereby transform society. Today, he remains the celebrated inventor of Op art.

The team wonders; who was Coorte who, in a time of lavishness, spent hours working on his austere still lifes of just a bunch of asparagus, three peaches or a bowl of strawberries? And how is it possible that eight different colors are needed to approximate the white of Coortes asparagus? And why are they so transparent? The search for the answers takes the team to a small church and an asparagus farmer in the Dutch provinces, which leads to a special discovery in a chemical laboratory.
