Multi-award-winning director Phil Grabsky takes a fresh look at arguably the world's most beloved artist, using the words of the painter himself. I, Claude Monet reveals new facets of the man who gave birth to the Impressionist movement with one painting, and who was certainly one of the most influential and renowned painters of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Shot on location across Europe, I, Claude Monet is an unprecedented, intimate film exploration of some of Western art's most beloved cult settings.

Of Spanish origin, Francis Picabia was an active member of the Dada group. However, being both provocative and iconoclastic, he soon began to scorn the serious nature of the avant-garde movements. His painting was at times realistic, at times abstract, and he sought above all to explore potential in art. This collection opens the doors of the Centre Pompidou (Paris) which presents some of Picabia’s major works, such as his famous “Cacodylic Eye” and “Adoration of the Calf”, recently acquired by the museum. Although Degas’ art is difficult to classify, it is often associated with the impressionist movement, which emerged in France at the end of the 19th century. Nevertheless, he developed a very personal style with a preference for indoors subjects rather than the open-air scenes favoured by the impressionist painters.
