Exhibition on Screen

The Sunflowers are among Van Gogh's most famous paintings. The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has dedicated an exhibition to these works and Exhibition on screen, which was given exclusive access to the event, guides us through the exhibition to investigate the mysteries surrounding these paintings. The film also takes us to Tokyo, Philadelphia, London and Munich to follow the 5 main works in the exhibition.

This famous art gallery in Berlin holds one of the world’s leading collections of European works by Old Masters. Here you can find “The Fountain of Youth” by Cranach the Elder, or the earthy “Netherlandish Proverbs” illustrated by Bruegel. Allow yourself to be tempted by the sensuality of Correggio (“Leda and the Swan”) or of Titian (“Venus with Organist”), by the poetry of “The Glass of Wine”, a genre painting by Vermeer, or by the gracious “Iris or the Dance” by Watteau. Sketchbook

Raphael Federici (street artist), Marine Goodmorning (illustrator), Luca Fiore (cartoonist) and Harry Boudchicha (drawing teacher) reveal their best drawing techniques. Each episode focuses on a specific subject: movement, oil painting, shadows, hair... For the first 10 minutes, each artist gives a theoretical lesson illustrated by sketches. Then they each start working on their creation. Finally, they end with a debrief, comparing and explaining their techniques

Paul Sérusier spent his entire summer of 1888 painting with Paul Gauguin in Pont-Aven, Brittany. This master of colour gave invaluable advice to the young Sérusier, who was part of the new generation of painters known as the Post-Impressionists. The Impressionists favoured the visual sensation of the motif, but they had not broken with the illusionist rendering of nature.

In no way was Pierre Bonnard destined to be a painter. However, he became one of the pillars of the Nabi Movement. His work, more closely linked to emotions than to realism, is impossible to classify. It is punctuated with huge sunny landscapes, of both the Mediterranean and Normandy, with interior scenes, with nudes and self portraits. This exhibition offers you ten of the artist’s greatest paintings, such as his famous “Workshop with Mimosa” and his “Nude in Bathtub”. Enjoy your visit!

Celebrity Antiques Road Trip

Top presenting pals Nicki Chapman and Jules Hudson escape to the country to find antiques with Natasha Raskin and Phillip Serrell. It becomes girls versus boys, both teams with £400 in their pockets. Kicking off from Wormsley in Herefordshire they Road Trip into Wales and Oxfordshire, before finally finishing in North Finchley, in London for an auction. Along the way the girls meet a clog maker who carves shoes by hand. While the boys head to the Herefordshire Light Infantry Museum to hear about the regiment’s involvement at Gallipoli.

After a two-year touring exhibition, in 2015 Girl with a Pearl Earring returned to the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague. David also visits a patch of inner-city grass in Cambridge where today children play and dogs are walked but was actually the birthplace of football, while Carrie learns how Letchworth Garden City sparked a revolution in town design.

In this episode, we will meet Benjamin Petit, photojournalist. His work focuses on social inequality and climate change issues. He has covered the aftermath of the Arab Spring in Yemen, the refugee crisis in Lebanon and recently documented climate refugees in the Dominican Republic. He has received several prestigious awards and his work has been published in very famous newspapers in France and abroad.

This exhibition is dedicated to the work of the late 18th century architect Jean-Jacques Lequeu. Despite his profession, he was not known for his constructions, but for his drawings. He made many portraits or drawings of everyday objects, architectural diagrams.

Photo Contest

In each episode of Photo Contest, two contestants compete on an imposed theme such as rock'n roll, Japan or architecture. They have one hour to take the best possible photographs before editing them for 30 minutes in a studio. The photographs they have selected are then presented to Agnès Grégoire, editor-in-chief of PHOTO magazine, who will have to choose the best photographer.

Artist's Workshop

In this episode, we will meet the artist Annette Messager. Her creations have been shaking up the contemporary scene for almost 50 years. She is one of the greatest French artists, awarded a Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 2005. She uses fabric and everyday objects to represent the intimate. But she also remains a committed artist. Installed in the popular suburbs of Paris, Annette Messager welcomes us in her workshop.
